My Workout Regime

I love my food. I adore spending time in the kitchen, cooking up balanced meals. My favourite places are the health food store and my kitchen. I’d rather have chocolates than flowers . . . you get the gist.

But when it comes to the other half of the healthy lifestyle sphere, I’m much less willing. Exercise. I know I’ve got to do it, I know how to do it and I know the enormous benefits of doing it, but I’ve never been very good at sticking with it. I prefer to work out at home, mainly because of the cost of a gym membership compared to all of the free workouts you can find online.


I have a plan in mind for my new and improved exercise routine and it goes as follows:

Tuesday – half an hour of circuit training (sets and reps of things like burpees, squats, lunges, plank, knee raises, jumping jacks etc.)

Thursday – same as above

Sunday – forty minutes of jogging

The amount of exercise recommended by the NHS is two and a half hours per week. With this plan, I would only be getting around an hour and forty, but I could probably bump it up to two hours with some morning exercises most days.

As for my fitness goals, I want to look like I workout. Does that sound silly? I want to look toned, not soft. I have no interest in abs, or defined shoulders or a massive booty, I just want to look on the outside how I feel on the inside – healthy.
